Vegan Chocolate Banana Peanut Butter Bliss Smoothie

Ingredients

 2 espresso shots
 5 ice cubes
  cup frozen avocado pieces
2 frozen chocolate covered banana pieces
2 tbsp PB Fit peanut butter powder
1 heaping scoop of Vitalura Chocolate Gelato protein powder (plant-based or whey)

Directions

1

Using your espresso machine make 2 shots. If you don't have an espresso machine you can use regular coffee (~8-12oz).

2

If using freshly made or warm/hot coffee, add the ice cubes directly to the cup/mug help cool the coffee down. Feel free to add more ice cubes if you're wanting to increase water content or increase the chill factor.

3

Add 2 packages of Dole chocolate covered frozen banana pieces directly to coffee (this will also help cool it down). You can also sub 8-10 slices of plain, frozen banana or another brand. Add 1/3c frozen avocado pieces to coffee mug.

4

Pour coffee mug contents into blender; add 2 tbsp PB fit and 1 heaping scoop of chocolate gelato flavored Vitalura Labs protein powder of choice.

5

Cover and blend until smooth. Serve and enjoy!

Tips

  1. Vitalura Labs offers a plant-based or whey protein option; both are available in chocolate or vanilla gelato. You can read my full review of their plant-based protein and whey protein prior to making your decision. Make sure to use code "SARAHMILLER" for free shipping.
  2. Don't have Vitalura Labs brand protein in your pantry? You can honestly sub any brand chocolate protein powder. As a Dietitian, I would like to take this opportunity to educate- supplements are not heavily regulated the way our food supply is. You can read more about why I recommend Vitalura Labs and what to look for in supplements on my previous blog posts.
  3. Feel free to add cocoa powder for added dark chocolatey flavor or top with chocolate chips/pieces you have on hand for extra deliciousness.
  4. When making smoothies, always ensure that you're using enough liquid to keep your blender running smoothly. If you find that you need more fluid, don't hesitate to add additional ice cubes to this recipe to help increase the chill and water content at the same time. Also make sure you're using a high powered blender; I personally love my Blendtec.
